Frequently asked questions

• Q: How long does it take for you to complete a portrait?

A: Portraits generally take about 16 weeks from the time I start your portrait, to completion. Note that depending on volume completion dates will vary and will be discussed prior to sale.

• Do you paint other animals or subjects besides dogs and cats?

A: Yes I paint other animals and various subjects. Contact me for a quote. Delivery and fees will differ depending on your cutom order.

• Are there any preservation requirments for my painting?

A: Framing requirements for acrylic paintings don’t generally require glass. Once complete, I seal the rendering with a gloss seal and varnish, however, it would be preferable to hang your painting in a spot not experiencing direct sunlight.

• Does the above mentioned cost include shipping?

A: Shipping costs are not included above. If you are ordering a portrait, I will provide a final quote with which reflects shipping prior to payment.

• Do you ship outside of Canada?

As a small child my life was filled with animals, great draft horses towering above me, ponds teaming

with tadpoles, fields of rabbits and garter snakes…and dogs surveying the dinner table from their own

designated chair. Animals populated my world. They occupied my sketchbooks and dominated the

subject matter of my paintings. In so many ways that connection to creatures other than ourselves, has

steered much of my life’s work, both as an artist and as a dog trainer.

Observing and documenting the natural world led me to Chrysler’s Search for Canadian Wildlife Artists

contest many years ago, where I won First Place and Overall Best of Birds Division, then to a solo art

exhibition, Bronte, Ontario, and to a diploma in book and editorial illustration with Sheridan College.

After settling in Halton I spent over a decade illustrating children’s books, for trade and education

publishers in the Toronto area.
