They dominated the subject matter of her short story writing and painting. All those colorful, funny, irresistible nonhuman beings, exhibiting their own unique culture and mysterious ways of communicating, their ‘otherness’ steering her life’s passion as a writer, an artist, and currently, as a part-time canine instructor for one of North America’s leading pet product organizations. For several years she maintained The Dog Blog, a monthly communication, benefiting students and the dog community at large. Her debut novel Chasing Shadow is now available for purchase. In the works With her second novel coming down the pipes, Parks spins a tale of young love across time as it weaves together past and present, in the search for answers. And, given her strong connection with animals, the author must be forgiven for also including a very annoying little dog.
